The shepherd would have a brown hat and trousers, and a green or brown jacket. His waistcoat would be grey or brown, and his boots would be matt black. His shirt would be white or cream. A crook may be fashioned out of fuse wire.(ref 1). Coarse haired collies, standing and crouching, would be black, with white faces, chest and lower legs, and the tip of the tail. Sheep and lambs would be a basic yellow/grey. Their faces and feet might be white, but for older breeds, black faces and feet were more common than in the present day. The odd black sheep could also be included, as well as those with some brown patches.
